Resident Testimonials
“Our daughter Shelley did the research when looking for a home. She looked at 4 to 5 residences. She picked Monterey as #1. Initially it was due to the location and the Safe Living Unit. The other reasons were, the nice homey feeling when you come in. The atmosphere is warm, and pleasant.
The first impression is that it is classy and smells fresh. The staff are fabulous. The RN’s and Lifestyles staff are “energizer bunnies”! The cleaning staff are superb. We always felt welcome just to drop in. The food choices at meal time are fabulous. The individual coffee stations are nice too. The events which are planned are excellent and the staff involved are very helpful and friendly. The Resident and Family parties are a lot of fun. The staff look after everyone. The medical staff are helpful. All the administrative staff, daytime and evening shifts are very friendly. We can discuss Monterey in a positive, happy way, because it’s easy to do. “

Family Testimonials
“The nurses and staff were very helpful. I would recommend Monterey Place to anyone looking for an assisted living location for friends or family.” "For anyone who is anxious or apprehensive about assisted-living care for either your Mom, Dad, brother, sister or special friend, look no further than Monterey Place in Calgary, AB. I can tell you, without hesitation or reservation, that ‘Monterey’, as we came to call it, has a ‘heart’ at the core of its care. With this hard to-come-by quality these days in many institutions, the rest of the provisions offered at the home simply fall in place. I had to move a dear 85-year-old friend, Imants Gruikis, to Monterey Place earlier this year. After my mother fell and broke her hip, she could no longer care for him in a suite at her home, where he lived for more than 34 years. Imants was a quiet Latvian who asked for very little. The staff at Monterey knew this immediately and took him in as their own. ALL his care was absolutely great. Imants passed away peacefully this year, having resided at Monterey for only five months. But they were happy ones for him…as a man who usually only said everything was “OK,” he actually said “everything was very good,” which said a lot! Don’t hesitate if you get the opportunity to admit a loved one to Monterey Place."
